Will Christopher Baer grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Memphis, and received his MFA from the Naropa Institute in Boulder, Colorado (the school founded by Allen Ginsburg) where he studied under such writers as Michael Ondaatje and Jim Carroll. He has won fiction prizes from Story and Prism International and has been published in Bomb and Damaged Goods.
