| Anthony Aveni, Ph.D. is the author of more than fifteen books, including the critically acclaimed Behind the Crystal Ball: Magic, Science, and the Occult from Antiquity through the New Age. He teaches in both the Physics/Astronomy and Sociology/Anthropology departments at Colgate University. In 1991 Rolling Stone magazine named him one of the ten best professors in the country.
